Last entry

Now I know that a lot of you aren't really interested in heavy metal or in any rock band that I've talked about but If you did take the time to read my blogs i appreciated it and for those left a comment or two i also thank as well. This will be my last entry and with every ending comes a grand finally. Or in rocking "Encore" is when you give a bonus jam to your audience at a concert. It also means that the crowed likes your style in music and makes them want to listen to your songs more often. Now for all you metal and/or rock lovers I will leave you with three songs that I personally love and are in my top 10 most listened to songs. Each song will blow your minds out and show you true music in history of both genre of music. With out any delay here is the 3rd place song.  This is "Back In The U.S.S.R" by the Beatles.

What did you think of that...Maybe something faster is more listened to right? Here is the 2nd place song, "Dance of Death" by Iron Maiden.

As you can see the album covers of their songs gives the heavy metal impression. And last but not least here is the 1st place song *EXTREMELY LONG DRUM ROLL* "Sweating Bullets" by MEGADETH.

Hoped you guys liked my blogs. Goodbye.

Green Day

Now you guys might not know this but Green Day  is a trio. Billie Joe Armstrong is singer and lead guitarist, Mike Dirnt as bass guitarist and Tré Cool as drummer. They are a punk/alternative/pop punk rock band and they are extremely talented for a trio. Now they started in 1988 with Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt who played some songs at Billie's mom's work and from there started their career. Later on, Cool heard about them and was interested to join them as drummer of the band in 1993. They won the all eight music awards in 2001 California's Music Awards.

Personally, I think they are pretty good and they are great to listen to since they talk about politics, nations, personal life and many other subjects. Something to add about there history that I found interesting is on this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Day if you are intrigued to find out more about them. They are still on tour and have came out with new songs like "Know Your Enemy" and "21 Guns" that are big hits. And last but not least and like all my other blogs here is a picture and a song for you all to listen to. Enjoy.

Collective Soul

This is an alternative rock band that has started in the 1990's and are still playing now. They became famous after performing their song "Shine". They are a really calming/amusing to listen to since they talk about anything. Now since they are a new band there isn't much to talk about so I shall just give you guys a little bit my opinion about them. Personally, I like the lead guitarist and the drummer since from my point of view they basically give the band a really good beat. My favorite song by Collective Soul is "December".

The song, to me, talks about taking a break and to stop worrying about life orelse you'll be hurting yourself and everyone around you. Now that might not be what its really talking about but even if that ain't the story line behind the song, its still pretty good. They have a better future ahead of them since they have a better creativity than most newer rock bands and for that I give them credit since most bands of today. What I mean is that they don't stay on the same subject because they talk about life and in life there is more than just relationships and breaking up.

So heres a picture and enjoy the video.

Bon Jovi

Now here's another rock band you probably heard of. Now to give a little info on them here is a link to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bon_Jovi. I don't know a lot on there history but what I do know is that they talk about the good and the bad times in life that happened to them or to others. What I do know is that Dave Sabo (Part of the band Skid Row) used to play with Bon Jovi until he was replaced by another bassist named Richie Sambroa. Their first album came out between 1984-85 called "Run Away". They became a really popular band after having troubles starting it. In the late 70's and early 80's, Bon Jovi was switching from band to band with David Bryan. They went all around New Jersey's clubs and studios to no success, until Bon Jovi convinced the director of the radio channel "The Apple". That's basically what started the band. It took Bon Jovi to put his voice on air to intrigue others to join his band. Tico Torres joined soon after followed by Richie Sambroa. Personally, I ain't a big fan of Bon Jovi but I do like some of his songs since they help boost your confidence in yourself if you ever need it. Now here is my favorite song by Bon Jovi, its called "Livin' On A Prayer"

Jimmy Hendrix

Now out of all groups of rock you know, count on Jimmy to beat them all in the consummation of any type of drugs. He is a big hit during his concerts were he would grab his guitar, hump it a few times then lite it on fire. The backfire to this is that when he's all sobered up, he can't play any of his songs for reasons like and from my point of view "HE WAS PROBABLY HIGH WHEN HE THOUGHT ABOUT THE SONGS!!!!!" Jimmy Hendrix mostly talks about love and whatever else he can think of that sounds great to his ears and to my ears as well. He plays the guitar and sings his songs. He sang blues type songs and all of his songs had a rhythm to it. That type of rhythm that makes you feel relaxed and happy. He toured around most of the U.S and England. But in September 18th 1970 he was found dead in his apartment in London, England. It was ruled out that he was assassinated by Micheal Jeffrey who forced Jimmy to take a type of drug named "Vesparax" and a mixture of alcohol which caused him to drown in his own vomit. He was only 27 when he died and so he was placed in the "27 club" that commemorates all rock artists that died at the age of 27 for example Kirt Cobain. now here is the song "All Along The Watchtower" by your friend Jimmy.

Pearl Jam

Now this peculiar band has been a big hit during the 1990's and even today you might hear about them if you go to any local guitar shop. They are in the grunge type of rock and from the magasine " US Today" is quoted as they are consisted of  Eddie Vedder that sings, plays the harmonica, the ukelele and the rythm guitar. Mike McCready who plays the lead guitar, Jeff Ament for basse, Matt Cameron as drummer and Stone Gossard as another Rythmic guitarist. Personally they are a great band to listen to since they are mostly open to most ideas and they basically help out one another with writting lyrics for thier songs. Now from Wikipedea, it sais that their were four other members that were part of the group for a certain time. It was four different drummers first off is Dave Krusen in 1991, then Matt Chamberlain in 1991, followed by Dave Abruzzese in 1994 and finally Jack Irons in 1998. They started with Ament and Grossard who were in their own band called "Mudhoney" until Andrew Wood joined and they renamed the band as "Mother Love Bone" until Wood dies of a drug overdose before the release of they're first album "Apple". To honour his death, Chris Cornell from "Soundgarden " and made an abulm with the rest of the group. Now back to Pearl jam itself. The name was inspired by the story of Eddie's great grandmother named "Pearl" and one "Jam" came from the inspiring Neil Young who played "Jams" of ten to twenty minutes long. And now they still play to this day to show some of their great hits. Here is "Last Kiss" from Pearl Jam to you.

Aerosmith

Now all of you should know about Aerosmith. They are one of the best rock bands to have ever existed in this world and they know how to make better love music than any other band that talk about love. They are mostly looked up to for theirs songs that talk about mostly anything that either involves love or sorrow. They started in 1970 with Joe Perry (The lead guitarist) and Tom Hamilton (The bassist). Steven Tyler, the signer, Joey Kramer at the drums and Ray Tabano joined soon after, but in 1971, Tabano was replace by Brad Whitford. Personally I think it was wise to kick Ray out since he wasn't really that great as back up guitarist. I'm not sure why he got kicked but he must have been horrible or high. Either way they made their first album in 1973 with "Eponymous Debut Album" with the record company  Columbia Records. They made many platinum albums like "Get Your Wings" in 1974 and "Toys In The Attic" in 1975 and in 1976 they came out with "Rocks". Now that is most of what I have learned about them now from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerosmith, I learned that because of drug addictions and disputes between the band members,  Joe Perry and Brad Whitford left in 1980. Miraculously they both came back in 1984 after sobering up and finally getting along they came back into the rocking business and climb for the rock and roll hall of fame in 1993. Now to give you a taste of their success, here is  the song "Toys In The Attic".

Sex Pistols

Sex Pistols is a punk rock band. For those who don't know the difference between punk rock and normal rock. Punk is basically teenagers that rebel against everything (Parental controls, politics, religion, even war.). Punk culture is commonly popular in European countries like England, France and Germany.
The Sex Pistols is the band that started it all. Most of today's punk bands follow what their creator has left behind. But the Sex Pistols didn't have the greatest cooperation. They had to replace their bass guitarists four times!!!! And each time they switched was because the previous one died of drug overdose!!!! You would think that they would be against drugs, but they didn't care. In fact they always seemed to be high before their gigs and after. They brought out their first album "Never Mind the Bollocks...Here's The Sex Pistols" in 1977. They started out with no money at all and managed to become one of the most famous bands of all time. How cool is that. But lots of arguments and controversy started when Glen Matlock left the band. He left for his own reasons and talked about it with the band. When they officially confirmed Matlock's resignation, they started a war of words. Enough of that and back to their music. Now the second album the brought out was "God Save The Queen" which caused a lot of controversy since it was "anti-royalist" to those that supported the queen. Basically to make a long story short, they weren't the most lovable band in history. Now there is a lot more to the Sex Pistols and if you are interested in learning more, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_Pistols. that is where I got my info. Here's the song

Audioslave

Audioslave is a post-grunge genre of music. They mostly talk about how to forget how bad the world is in their song "Doesn't Remind Me" and that no matter where you go, as long as you enjoy the good times and try to put the bad times behind if you can. They also talk about a long lost love and how they will never be able to be together in the song "Like A Stone". This is one of my favorite rock bands because they use distortion sounds for their guitar solos since they are a post-grunge type of band. Personally, I prefer to listen to their songs when I feel down because it helps me bring my spirit up. They basically tell you to enjoy the little things  around you. But sometimes they will go out of that and bring out the big guns like "Show Me How To Live" where they talk about how someone wants to learn from someone close how to live their own life. Now for some little facts from wikipedia. Audioslave was made from former band members of Rage Against The Machines like lead guitarist Tom Morello, base Tim Commerford, and the battery: Brad Wilk and former signer of Soundgarden Chris Cornell. Also, they are the first american band to ever play live in Cuba. I think that is pretty amazing since Cuba and the U.S don'T really see "eye to eye". Now heres some photos and a relaxing song from Audioslave, here's "Doesn't Remind Me".

Time for change of subject...how about rock!!!!

For the next few blogs, I will talk about different rock bands. Now when I'm talking about rock bands its not these newer ones that keeps signing about their love life...Who really cares about that!!!! No, I will talk of the bands that have talent like The Who, the Ramones, Police, Jethro Tull, Foghat, Aerosmith, Audioslave, and many, many more. Right I will just summarize what i will be talking about in my future blogs. Now like heavy metal, there are different types of rock, like Punk rock, hard rock and progressive rock. Those are the top three types of rock i like to listen to. Here are a few songs to give you a taste of these three genders of rock. I shall start it off with progressive rock. Here's "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull

A fact that I have recently learned is that Jethro Tull played the flute and sings in all of his song "Bungle In The Jungle".But my favorite song is "Aqualung". Now here's some punk rock. This is "Anarchy In The U.K." by Sex Pistols. Now this band is what started the punk revolution in the world.

Now for the last song which will represent hard rock will be *DRUM ROLL* QUEEN!!!! Now since i made most of suffer extremely harsh heavy metal songs, I will cut you all some slack and play the song "Bicycle Race".

Fan's of Metal

Well now I will talk a bit about their fans. I, as a fan of metal, i prefer to listen to it loud. Metal is meant for pumping your adrenaline and to be less afraid of  the world. Some ways of doing that is by putting your i pod to full blast so that you can't hear the people on your school bus complain about their boring lives that no one really cares about. Now if your like me, people that interrupt the guitar solos of your favorite songs should be punched in the face.

When you  can hear the person beside you saying that your music is to loud...It sure as hell ain't loud enough. I get yelled at by people because my music is too loud but when I turn around and say their music is too loud, I get insulted in Arabic since they are aloud to do whatever they please. For any metal fan being oppressed this is my advice: Don't listen to those that complain about your music because they don't understand your music like you do!!!!!! And if they keep on harassing you about it then tell them to shove a cork in their mouth. They might think Miley Cyrus is an awesome signer but to me, someone signing about an american party is because she can't make  up a real song worth while to listen to. Now if you feel like your the only metal fan these days because of that Justin Bieber crap but trust me. as long as there is someone signing about chaos and destruction there will be millions of metal fans. What we must do is regroup and crush these new songs they call music. And get MEGADETH back together to lead us back into popularity. Most metal fans can't stand rap, hip hop or jazz. Also we do not like being annoyed with people trying to act like they are metal fans just because they know a song made by a heavy metal band. All metal fans know the history of at least  one metal band (Members, songs, albums, when they started, if they broken up etc...). Well now I will leave a song for you guys to listen to. Here is "Killed By Death" by Motorhead.

Guitar Styles

All groups of metal have different "looks" for their guitar. To give you guys ideas of what I'm talking about, I will put numerous pictures of different guitars and name them for you guys.

guitar #1: The Firebird. Its a guitar in shape of a "z" but the edges are more circular than straight. The picture below is the actual "look".

As you can see, the edges aren't really straight. Personally, I always dreamed of having a guitar like this. Now to show the " EXPLORER" which is a straighter version of the Firebird.

Guitar #2: The EXPLORER is a commonly used guitar in certain metal bands like "In-Flames" and "MEGADETH".
Now I looked for the same colored type guitar for the Firebird but they didn't have one. This is what you would call a "Vintage-Sunburst". Vintage is an old guitar that lost a bit of its color but the added sunburst gives the red a nice cherry color which I think is very nice and guitars like these ones sound much better than their newer brethren.

Guitar #3: Stratocaster is a guitar that looks like a Les Paul but instead of having only one part of the top sticking out, both side do. this will show you what I'm trying to say. Kirk Hammett from METALLICA uses this type of guitar. Also my guitar at home is a stratocaster  as well.

Now to show you another type of guitar. How about the "Flying V".

Guitar # 4: Flying V is a guitar in a shape of a "V" obviously. The band "Scorpions" has a Flying V.

It has the look of someone with two pegged legs but still looks like  "V" upside down.

And now the father of all guitar looks.

Guitar #5: Les Paul is the very first guitar to be used by rock and metal bands. It is the most famous guitar ever invented but sadly  the creator of this magnificent guitar passed away last year. But no rock or metal band that understand their history can never really appreciate what this man did for the rocking community. And for those who don't know who the creator of the Les Paul guitar is, well its Les Paul himself. He started the guitar company Gibson who made a huge variety of guitars, there are hundreds of different looks but I'm only naming the top five guitar styles. Now here is the picture of the very first guitar look.

Techniques: Hammer-ons and Pull offs

I will be more specific about hammer-ons in this blog. Hammer-ons is a technique, like sports, guitars have different ways of making sound than its traditional sounds imitating from the strings. A hammer-on is quickly moving your fingers down the string of the guitar. the video will explain it for those who need a visual image of whats happening. This is a way to speed up your song. Like I said in my previous blog, it is used both in rock and metal so don't be surprised when the man says rock "n" roll.

It is the easiest technique to learn. It is a bit confusing at the start but you will really catch on after two or three times. I found it pretty easy to learn, but when you use hammer-ons, there are pull offs. Its the same concept but instead of going down on your string, you switch strings without hitting it a second time. here is a video demonstrating a pull off.

I
I personally think pull offs are harder for the fact the you must be quick in moving your finger to the next string right after hitting the first one like in the video above.

History of Metal

Metal from my point of view, was created by rock bands who wanted something that would pump the adrenaline of their fans and make them feel relieved of taking out their emotions in a louder way. It basically formed a new type of sound on the radio waves, people started listening to something that grew from one branch of music to another. You can look at like this, Rock is the older brother trying to set an example and Metal is the rebellious little brother that like to jam out and drive everyone crazy with their loud music. To prove it personally, I, as the youngest of my family does not like soft music. I would rather make my ears bleed listening to something loud and that pumps the adrenaline super fast to the point that you can't slow down. The only disadvantage about metal is that the moment it started it was immediately taken off the air since rock bands didn't want to lose their grip on profits. And from that moment on stereotypes about heavy metal like it was "the devils work!!!!" or "It makes you want to kill yourself." and my personal favorite "Its an insult to music.". (Laugh) To think that would stop us...man you gotta be kidding me. Instead of being discouraged from comments like that, we grew stronger. We caused thousands of kids to rebel and start singing about chaos and have demonic solos that completely astonishes most rock guitarist. Because of this, the rock bands were starting to lose their popularity in a certain way. Their concerts weren't sold out like before. This started a music war. During the 70's and 80's, rock and metal were fighting one another in what would be called "guitar battles". If a group of rock had faster solos, the metal bands found ways of making solos even faster called "Hammer-On" were you slide your fingers up and down the neck really fast to make some sort of sliding noise. Every band found a way to make a hammer on different. Now here's a song from a random metal band and rock band. they both use hammer ons for their songs. I want you to judge which one is better.

i
I present you "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions and "Heaven and Hell" from Dio. Both have hammer ons and they should be easy to find if you listen to them.

Concerts

YEAH!!!!!!!! What better way than to listen to your favorite band LIVE!!!!! Well let me tell you from my experience, its pretty cool. But be aware that some metal fans will start "mosh pits" which is circling one person and beating on them. If your lucky, hope that you get back seat tickets if you don't want to be part of any of that. But since the 80s and 90s there isn't a lot of people who still participate in mosh pits since most bands these days aren't really that thrilling and they don't really sound any good live.

Lesson 1 about concerts: Look at the REVEIWS!!!! You got to look at your bands reputation for their live perfomance. Its a matter of not wasting your money and understanding that some bands should stay in studios and other should  go live.

Now my personal way of figuring out which bands are good or not. Listen to their songs and try seeing if there is a live version on youtube and see what i personally think of them. For example here is a song from Dragonforce called "Furry Of The Storm"

Now this is a good song, but i wouldnt want to see them live since I went to their concert in Montreal four years ago and it SUCKED!!!! It didn't sound at all like the studio version and it was really disapointing but sometimes its how you learn. Hope you guys like this song.

Groups Of Metal

I've decided to give you all a break on the numerous metal bands I know and decided to talk about how you classify them. From what I remember, there is HEAVY METAL, PROGRESSIVE METAL, THRASH METAL, SCREAMO and last but not least GOTHIC METAL. To give an example of these different types of metal, here is a song, each song will be from a different band and type of metal, to start things off here is "Holy Diver" by Dio

As you can see this is HEAVY METAL at its main stage, now to show PROGRESSIVE METAL, here is "Set The World On Fire" by Symphony X. This is a newer band and I think it would also help represent some of today's metal bands.

Now For some SCREAMO. WARNING: SCREAMO is really heavy stuff so if you can't bare to people screaming this is not for you!!!!!!!! Don't be a hero. Here is the song "The Quiet Place" by In Flames.

So far, you should notice the difference between each song, they all reach a certain peak. Now to finish off this blog with the Gothic Metal song "Sleep In Sanity" by Anathema.

I almost forgot one group. THRASH METAL, a mixture of heavy and progressive put together in a awesome duo of destruction and chaos. Here is the song "For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica.

Iron Maiden

Hell...demons...falling angels and humanity are traits to describe some of their songs. No they do not sing about hotel maids! They are pretty much the beginning of heavy metal. IRON MAIDEN is one of the most heaviest in their songs because of their vocalist Dennis Wilcock. But Dennis wasn't their main signer until they fired Paul Day since he wasn't as energetic or charismatic. The band was formed by the bassist Steve Harris and soon after the lead guitarist Dave Murray. what is so great about them is that they can insert WWI battles in their songs like "Passchendale" one of the most bloodiest battles that ever existed. It also talks about the no mans land, the trenches were the allied and enemy troops would hide in and fire at one another and how everyone lost  most of their friends over there. Its my favorite song  and it keeps you from falling asleep. in other songs they talk about human hatred and how they make the same mistake in the song "Blood Brothers". Now the heartbeat to all their songs is the battery, who else to keep the adrenaline pumping  than Doug Sampson himself. The beat of the drums will make your heart pump faster than any other band apart from Metallica. Now here's a picture and song from iron maiden to you.

Ozzy Osbourne

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, the wonderful music of Ozz. There is no comparison when it comes to Ozzy Osbourne and any other metal bands. He was formerly part of Black Sabbath where he learned that British accents are good for publicity. Not saying that he learned to have that accent, he always had it. He left Black Sabbath and began his own band where he expressed himself in a rebellious form of Heavy Metal. His songs varied between today's society and how its controlled by the media in the song "Crazy Train", also he talks about certain peoples lives like in the song "Mr. Crowley". No one can deliver the icy chill that he could when his album "Blizzard of Ozz" came out in 1980 which was a big hit at the time. It was such a hit that it got platinum four times. Now most signers like Ozzy who went solo for three decades would stop and retire. Not for Ozzy, he wanted to end his career in 2001 hosting the Ozzfest   where 1 million and plus fans came to see. 32 days of nonstop metal songs one after the other and each day was completely sold out!!!!!!!! Talk about leaving with a bang. well I will give you a taste of his master pieces. I present you "Shot In The Dark" by Ozzy Osbourne.

Dream Theater

Dream Theater is an okay type of metal band. To me, it’s not something I’d really listen to since I don't really understand the story behind their songs. Those who think they like a song without understanding the story behind it don't understand the real message that they are trying to send!!!! Most of their fans will tell you that they will basically talk about psychological madness and social torment. I can't really say anything more about their songs but I can introduce you to some of the band members (Lead guitarist, bass and the drummer). Lead guitarist is John Petrucci, the bass is named John Myung and the drummer is named Mike Portnoy. Something interesting that I learned reading their biography on Wikipedia is that the signer and the keyboard player have changed at least three times each. They are a progressive metal band that stays away from the mainstream of music for their own reasons. Something else that i found out and I quote is that "Mike Portnoy, age 37, is the youngest drummer in the "Rocker Drummer" hall of fame." He also won 23 other awards ever since he went famous. Now this blog wont have a music video due to technical difficulties. Sorry for the inconvenience

Metallica

METALLICA is one of the best american bands apart from ANTHRAX, MEGADETH and SLAYER who are the "big four" in thrash metal. When it comes to mind games and social chaos, METALLICA is the band who basically represents it. Now MEGADETH and METALLICA don't see eye to eye because they are huge rivals ever since METALLICA kicked Dave Mustaine and replaced him with Kirk Hammett due to Dave's alcohol addiction. METALLICA was created by Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield when they first met. the band officially started in October of 1981. They had Ulrich's friend Ron Quintana to find a name for the band, his ideas were METALLICA and METAL MANIA. Obviously Ulrich chose METALLICA because the name was much more original than METAL MANIA and would probably intrigue more people to listen to their music. I find this pretty interesting and i actually went to look when METALLICA actually started since i don't know the date by heart. To explain the rivalry between METALLICA and MEGADETH. When Dave Mustaine got kicked, he decided to hold a grudge against METALLICA and formed his own band which is MEGADETH, they both competed in music to see who can put the most chaos in their music. My opinion, I think MEGADETH won but METALLICA wasn't far behind. Now here is a picture of the band and a song that i am trying to learn how to play.

AC DC

Now to my point of view there is no way that anyone in North America has never heard a song from AC DC on the radio. This is one of the most popular bands in the 80s and 90s.Since 1973 when they started to play, they soared through three decades unleashing big hits like "TNT" and "High Way To Hell". They started in Australia where they had their first tour "High Voltage" in 1974. My favorite album personally is " Dirty Deeds Done For Cheap", but as for their songs, I would say "Highway To Hell".       AC DC  didn't have an easy tour thought. From what I read about their history and i quote "The first vocalist of AC DC Bon Scott died  at the age of 33 in London, England. He was replaced by Brian Johnson a native of Newcastle." As you can see AC DC did not have an easy career, they lost their lead singer but in return got a remarkable replacement that Bon Scott would appreciate since Brian Johnson's voice was something Bon Scott could only dream of having. They never dropped in popularity even when Brian replaced Bon, in fact, they actually got much more famous and continued to jam across the world until the 1990's. They played in the Palladium in New York, the Jacksonville Coliseum and the Whiskey in Los Angeles and many more places. Now here's a song made by AC DC for you guys to listen to. My second favorite "Thunderstruck"

Going Into Details...

Now that you got a taste of heavy metal, I will now start with a specific band in every blog.

Today i will talk about MEGADETH, this band is in the top 10 in my favorite list. Their solo's are always impressive and will keep your adrenaline pumping through most of their songs. If there is a band that can talk about chaos and and global destruction, its them. They went around all of north America spreading their chaotic music of awesomeness around encouraging more people to play guitar and start their own bands to pay tribute to this great legend of metal. In the group was guitarist/signer Dave Mustain, David Ellefson at the bass, Chris Broderick as lead guitarist,
and playing the battery was Shawn Drover. For those that didn't know and I quote "They are one of the Big Four american trash metal bands." the three others were Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer. But to continue on MEGADETH, for those of you who think heavy metal is depressing is probably because of the stereotypes that reverted to songs made by any band that were trying to revolt against their parents or authorities that were oppressing them in other words and using a 70's term would be called a "Square" that are people who think their perfect and makes rock and metal look like trash with their classical music. Its OK to not like a type of music but to insult it isn't right and so for those that do not like metal heres a nice song from MEGADETH to you.

80's Heavy Metal

As most people know metal was mostly popular during the 70s and the 80s. Bands like poison that talked about rebelling against parent control over kids and making out  in the bushes. Poison to my point of vue is an "ok" band since i'm more of the type that likes bands such as Def Leppard who talk about love but in a more wild way. For example their song " Pour Some Sugar On Me" was a big hit in all of the UK since Def Leppard was probably one of the first metal bands made there followed by Iron Maiden and the Saxons.

But we cannot forget the famous AC/DC who was an extremelly popular band at that time as well who sang about liberty and had a rebellious influence on most teenagers who listened to them. Personally my favorite song by AC/DC is "High Way To Hell". Skid row is another 80s band commonly popular as well with their song " Youth Gone Wild".

(Def Leppard, band photo on the bottom left and bottom right is the song "Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row.)

Metal in general

Many people misunderstand metal and consider it as depressing. But to my point of view, metal is a way to express or take out your inner feelings. If people took the time to listen to it, they will see this type of music has a special way of showing it. As for any group of music, the clothing is very important to metal bands and their fans. My preference is wearing a black hoody, blue jeans, driving gloves ( that dont fully cover the fingers) and a belt with a certain desing on it. There are also hair styles for metal, like buzz cuts, some bands like Five Finger Death Punch have someone who completely shaves his head to the point where theres only a thin layer of hair left or a patch of hair in the middle and shave the rest. Five Finger Death Punch mainly speaks about revenge,
loss, fights and sorrow in most of their songs that i've heard so far. The song "Hard to See" is a song of fighting and revenge.

This song i one of thousand ways that us metal fans like to express ourselve because in a way, some of the sories behind the songs touch our lives inderectly.
