AC DC

Now to my point of view there is no way that anyone in North America has never heard a song from AC DC on the radio. This is one of the most popular bands in the 80s and 90s.Since 1973 when they started to play, they soared through three decades unleashing big hits like "TNT" and "High Way To Hell". They started in Australia where they had their first tour "High Voltage" in 1974. My favorite album personally is " Dirty Deeds Done For Cheap", but as for their songs, I would say "Highway To Hell".       AC DC  didn't have an easy tour thought. From what I read about their history and i quote "The first vocalist of AC DC Bon Scott died  at the age of 33 in London, England. He was replaced by Brian Johnson a native of Newcastle." As you can see AC DC did not have an easy career, they lost their lead singer but in return got a remarkable replacement that Bon Scott would appreciate since Brian Johnson's voice was something Bon Scott could only dream of having. They never dropped in popularity even when Brian replaced Bon, in fact, they actually got much more famous and continued to jam across the world until the 1990's. They played in the Palladium in New York, the Jacksonville Coliseum and the Whiskey in Los Angeles and many more places. Now here's a song made by AC DC for you guys to listen to. My second favorite "Thunderstruck"

Going Into Details...

Now that you got a taste of heavy metal, I will now start with a specific band in every blog.

Today i will talk about MEGADETH, this band is in the top 10 in my favorite list. Their solo's are always impressive and will keep your adrenaline pumping through most of their songs. If there is a band that can talk about chaos and and global destruction, its them. They went around all of north America spreading their chaotic music of awesomeness around encouraging more people to play guitar and start their own bands to pay tribute to this great legend of metal. In the group was guitarist/signer Dave Mustain, David Ellefson at the bass, Chris Broderick as lead guitarist,
and playing the battery was Shawn Drover. For those that didn't know and I quote "They are one of the Big Four american trash metal bands." the three others were Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer. But to continue on MEGADETH, for those of you who think heavy metal is depressing is probably because of the stereotypes that reverted to songs made by any band that were trying to revolt against their parents or authorities that were oppressing them in other words and using a 70's term would be called a "Square" that are people who think their perfect and makes rock and metal look like trash with their classical music. Its OK to not like a type of music but to insult it isn't right and so for those that do not like metal heres a nice song from MEGADETH to you.

80's Heavy Metal

As most people know metal was mostly popular during the 70s and the 80s. Bands like poison that talked about rebelling against parent control over kids and making out  in the bushes. Poison to my point of vue is an "ok" band since i'm more of the type that likes bands such as Def Leppard who talk about love but in a more wild way. For example their song " Pour Some Sugar On Me" was a big hit in all of the UK since Def Leppard was probably one of the first metal bands made there followed by Iron Maiden and the Saxons.

But we cannot forget the famous AC/DC who was an extremelly popular band at that time as well who sang about liberty and had a rebellious influence on most teenagers who listened to them. Personally my favorite song by AC/DC is "High Way To Hell". Skid row is another 80s band commonly popular as well with their song " Youth Gone Wild".

(Def Leppard, band photo on the bottom left and bottom right is the song "Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row.)

Metal in general

Many people misunderstand metal and consider it as depressing. But to my point of view, metal is a way to express or take out your inner feelings. If people took the time to listen to it, they will see this type of music has a special way of showing it. As for any group of music, the clothing is very important to metal bands and their fans. My preference is wearing a black hoody, blue jeans, driving gloves ( that dont fully cover the fingers) and a belt with a certain desing on it. There are also hair styles for metal, like buzz cuts, some bands like Five Finger Death Punch have someone who completely shaves his head to the point where theres only a thin layer of hair left or a patch of hair in the middle and shave the rest. Five Finger Death Punch mainly speaks about revenge,
loss, fights and sorrow in most of their songs that i've heard so far. The song "Hard to See" is a song of fighting and revenge.

This song i one of thousand ways that us metal fans like to express ourselve because in a way, some of the sories behind the songs touch our lives inderectly.
